Learning a Second Language (other than English)

Some scientific courses allow students to choose a different language other than English as their compulsory language or as an option. The following languages are taught: Arabic, Chinese, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Ukrainian.

SEMESTER 1

To enrol please fill in the online form (deadline: Wednesday 20th September 2023 at 18:00).

https://admin-sphinx.universite-paris-saclay.fr/SurveyServer/s/ServiceLangues/InscriptionsLV2S1-2023-24/questionnaire.htm?ORIGINE_SAISIE=qr_code

Once you have filled in the form below, you will be contacted with information on how to take a placement test so that you can be assigned a group which corresponds to your level. If you don't receive an email, check your spam account or contact the Languages Department directly:

langues.lv2@universite-paris-saclay.fr

Presence is obligatory from Lesson 1. If, however, you are absent, please inform your teacher and:

langues.lv2@universite-paris-saclay.fr for students at the UFR des Sciences

secretariat.polytech@universite-paris-saclay.fr for students at Polytech.

linda.heddadi@ens-paris-saclay.fr for students at ENS

laetitia.bergier@centralesupelec.fr  and  jorgen.stendahl@centralesupelec.fr  for students at CentraleSupélec

All classes take place in the Centre de Langues on the Plateau Campus (Eiffel Building) except for Swedish and Ukrainian.

Classes in blue take place at IOG 2 avenue Augustin Fresnel, 91127 Palaiseau

Please note, you cannot start a language as a beginner in Semester 2. If your language module in Semester 2 is obligatory, you must have started the Beginners' course in Semester 1.

Your choice of level at enrolment is a self-evaluation. In the first lesson, the teacher will check to see that your level corresponds to the level of the class. For Spanish, German, Italian, Swedish and Portuguese, you can do a level test here if you wish: https://dialangweb.lancaster.ac.uk/

Timetable for Semester 1 2023-2024
