English for Phd students
This course is tailored to the needs of PhD students who wish to improve their level of general English as well as their skills in oral presentations and scientific writing.
Pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary activities will be provided.
Speaking skills: all PhD students are expected to give a presentation (on a scientific issue) during the semester.
Writing skills: Different aspects of scientific writing will be covered according to the students’ needs, but this course does not include reviewing the students’ individual articles and papers.
2 groups of up to 16 students - one intermediate level, one advanced.
8 weekly sessions of 3 hours from October to December - Total: 24 hrs.
Attendance Policy Once you have signed up for this course, attendance is expected. Please inform your teacher if you cannot attend a class. At the end of the semester, you will be given a certificate for the number of hours that you attended. Please note that we will not issue any certificate for PhD students who did not attend a minimum of 15 hours.
